AQUAPOD UPDATE
The AquaPod is being used to produce shrimp. The entire shrimp cycle Aquapodis around 6 months in order to get them to our desired size, 50 grams, or what would be a U15 count shrimp. (That's under 15 shrimp per lb). So around early to mid November they should be ready.
The AquaPod is completely underwater at 18' deep and is stocked with white shrimp larvae. Anyone interested in taking a closer look or learning more about the project can contact: Gustavo Valdez,   gpo.valcer@gmail.com.
They offer to take you for a guided visit/dive free of charge. Please contact them to schedule your visit.

Their marketing plans include a commercial partner in San Francisco. Check out the following site and product video of one of our other projects you might find it interesting www.cleanfish.com.

Fisherman's Daughter Wild Sonora Coast Shrimp
Started in Guaymas is an incredible program for sustainable shrimp fishing.
The Valdez-Cervantes family of Sonora, Mexico has been fishing for generations, and is leading the way toward sustainability in the Sea of Cortez. When their youngest daughter came home from school asking if their family's shrimp boats were part of the reason there were fewer fish in the sea, her parents, Oscar and Irma, decided it was time to rethink how they were doing things. Over the past ten years, this family has led the way in developing a better system for harvesting shrimp that is more resource efficient and less taxing on the environment. FISHING REPORT
Week all and all a lot better than last week....Jen is back to almost herself but with gingerly moves now with the sore ribs...Cannot believe her, me particularly would be hurting as I did when I cracked three ribs on my boat in Hawaii...then 20 plus years ago you just had to suck it up and bear it....Now with the new procedure used on Jen, by the deadening of the nerves really works...enough of that lets talk fishing....

Week started off with a repeat customer of Jeff Schwartz and friends fishing with us for two days...First day was not our banner day...with only one fish and loosing several others and releasing one small sail...day 2 was one of those days losing some fish and going nada nada...Fish are out there but with the moon phase etc...bite just wasn't on that day...heard of one boat out at 42 loading up on Big Dorado...

Thursday saw us out on Andale 2 with friends of friends in real lumpy seas ended up with two med Dorado....Abel on Jonjen 2 getting two small Dorado and two chumming passengers....Not a good day for those fellows. Anyway the next day fairing better with only one chumming but a little less sick he says...Abel doing well with limits of Dorado and one released Billfish....Fishing is by some standards being called good but some days it was hunt and peck with some boats getting nada nada. Won't stretch the truth it is fair fishing right now you just have to find the fish and be ready to run a few miles...It is just like hunting, hunt and fish when you find....Until next week Jon and Jen and the animal family..
