For those of us who live in San Carlos, we already know that we live in paradise. But if you’re looking for an ideal place to celebrate someone’s birthday, anniversary, or special occasion, look no further than the beautiful Playa Blanca!
That’s just what I did for my girlfriend’s birthday. We vacationed for one amazing night in Suite 810, a 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom corner unit with a wrap-around balcony overlooking the Sea of Cortez, with fantastic views of Tetakawi and San Pedro Island.
The rental units here are fully furnished, with laundry facilities, cable TV, and wireless internet in the rooms. A short walk on the softest sand beach in San Carlos will get you to the Soggy Peso for a snack and brew, or for a fancier sit-down dinner, go a bit further to Bonifacio’s. Playa Blanca also arranges room service from Bonifacio’s extensive menu.
One amazing discovery we made from our balcony was a reef that starts at the west end of the resort, about 100 ft out into the water. We went right off the beach and snorkelled westbound along the reef, which was surrounded by a rainbow of tropical fish, including king and cortez angels, various wrasses, damselfish, starfish, a lobster, and the biggest trigger fish I’ve ever seen. We felt like we were at Martini Cove, without the need for a boat – it was incredible! Back at the hotel, we spent the rest of the morning playing in the huge beachside pool and reading on the comfortable lounge chairs.
I’m glad I got two tickets to paradise, packed my bags and drove 10 minutes to a place where time seemed to stand still and we enjoyed the experience of being on a mini-vacation.
