CineClub Guaymas presents a free movie starring Charlie Chaplin in “The Gold Rush” on Wednesday, March 28 at 7:00pm in Guaymas’ Municipal Auditorium. This silent film, one of Chaplin’s best, will have a live accompaniment by pianist Omar Gerardo Arriaga.
On Friday, March 30 at 7:00pm, there will be a free Peña Cultural with Alejandro Lozano, an excellent musician and singer, at the Casa de la Cultura in Guaymas
On Tuesday, April 3, San Carlos Plaza will host the Ambulante Film Fest and present the documentary “El Sistema” at 8:00pm.

The annual Expo Muebles (furniture expo) is taking place from March 14 – 21, from 10:00am to 9:00pm. There will be 35 home furnishing providers, all under one roof in Guaymas. There will be furniture, appliances, electronics, seasonal items and art for sale.

From March 16 – 18, the Sonora Riders will be in San Carlos and Guaymas. There will be live concerts, motorcycle stunt performances and more. On Saturday there will be a parade of motorcycles from San Carlos to the Guaymas Malecon.

The 13th Annual Melodrama, “Stop the Press — Again”, takes place on March 18, 19 and 20 at 7:00pm at the Rescate Facility.

On Thursday, March 8, meet Suzanne Pinto, San Carlos’ own Guinness World Record holder. She is the oldest woman ever to row an ocean! It seemed like a good idea at the time … For her 58th birthday, she decided to row a boat across the Atlantic Ocean. So she did. Come hear her story and see her remarkable slide show.
At 7:00pm, on Friday, March 9, there will be a free Peña Cultural, with Paco Luna y la Banda de los Culer, in Casa de La Cultura . It will be preceded by an exhibition by local artist, Angelica Leyva at 6:30pm.
The annual Ceramics Show & Sale at Club Deportivo will take place on Saturday, March 10. The morning will begin at 8:30am with a Pancake & Sausage breakfast. The Ceramic’s Club will display work they’ve done this season along with a sale of original Ceramic items.
