On Thursday April 15th at 10:00am, Castaway Kids are hosting a ceremony for the Dedication of the Tipton Educational Center in Las Playitas Area of Guaymas. An unfinished community center which was started by a group from Texas was brought to the attention of Castaway Kids by Steve Tipton two years ago. Then last year the Castaway Kids Construction Committee completed it. It is now being used by ladies learning to do crafts, and there is room for some other uses which Castaway Kids is now exploring, like a computer center for kids to use after school.
To get to the center: drive on the road past the old Soriana, stay to the right at the Y and when you come to a boulevard (Benito Juarez) go right again. Merge into another big boulevard (Carretera Al Varadero) and at the next Y, after the stadium, veer to the left, and count the blocks. Turn right at the 3rd street (Calle 5). Go to the 3rd street again and turn right and look to your right for a block building inside a fence.
Most of our community knew the Tiptons and everyone is invited to the dedication ceremony. The ladies will have some of their unique crafts on display and for sale.
