The San Carlos Triathlon 2010 started on the beach at Playa Posada, swimming 750 meters along the shore. After passing through the transition area, they biked 20 kilometers along the Bahia toward Catch 22 Beach, then up to El Mirador, where the short, steep grade presented the most arduous challenge of the day. After riding back to Playa Posada, participants ran along the main street of San Carlos for 5 kilometers.
75 people participated in relay teams and in male and female categories that were divided into under-40 and over-40. (results coming soon)
The event raised $1,500 with all proceeds benefiting the Lions Club of Guaymas, a volunteer organization committed to helping children with physical and mental challenges enjoy life through outdoor and experiential activities.
