San Carlos Mexico News Bites

  • Guaymas Mayor Lizárraga and Sonoran Governor Padrés announced an historic investment for the modernization of Guaymas, including first-class sports facilities.
  • The Government of Guaymas has started “Guaymas Summer 2010“. It features 44 different courses focused on sports, culture and art, youth, safety issues for women, and recreational travel. There are different courses for children, youths and adults taking place in la Unidad Deportiva Municipal, Casa de la Cultura and public places like the Zumba on the malecon.
  • Great video from Visit Mexico that will inspire you to go out and explore all that Mexico has to offer.
  • Hurricane Alex hit Mexico’s Gulf Coast as a Category 2 hurricane. It dumped enough rain on Monterrey, Nuevo León and Tamaulipas to cause flooding and wide-spread destruction (thankfully, it was nowhere near San Carlos). In Monterrey, a previously dry river bed filled with flood waters and burst its banks. Watch a video.
