Well, reports of marlin and dorado circulated yesterday, but they are probably fleeing with the wind today. The water warmed up into the low 70´s and we actually saw flying fish earlier in the week. We consistently found small to medium-sized yellowtail right off of Doble and to the south most mornings. At times they weren´t biting, and maybe they are entering into the spawn. A few big fish were around, and we did lose one right outside the harbor on the Sea Mounts. A few big ones were caught at the Island. There are lots of boats bottomfishing in the glass-calm conditions. Some boats really had some good fishing for the calico bass. I´ll take a few days of wind to catch up on some rest. It was a busy week, and I think the fish need a break from me too!
