San Carlos Mexico Fishing Report June 30, 2010

Bryan Replogle’s San Carlos Mexico Fishing Report
Time to get out there fishing, as the fishing is getting good. We picked up a couple of sails, a striped marlin, and one big tuna yesterday. Lots of flags flying in the harbor. Dorado, tuna, sailfish, marlin, and even a few wahoo were caught this week. Some good currents have brought the fish in. They aren’t everywhere, but in the right pockets you will find good fishing. Some huge seaweed patches earlier in the week provided us with a few dorado. I wish I could find more seaweed patches now that there are more fish! There were sailfish out there in thick numbers but they were very tricky to hook. I’d like to find those schools for a couple of flyfishing charters later in the week. We found some good sierra down by Haystack a few days ago. I even saw a sailfish and a school of decent sized dorado just a hundred yards from the point. Bottomfishing out there is also rumored to be pretty good. You can probably go find some good snapper for sale in the esterito. Time to head out and look for more tuna.
I have the ‘fever’ and we saw some the size of dolphin jumping yesterday!
Come on down for weigh-ins in the afternoons for the 63rd annual International Fishing Tournament. It always brings out good numbers (see below for more information on the tournament).
