Sam Rainwater presented with “Platinum Starfish Award”at Mark Mulligan Concert.
There was an good turn-out at the Mark Mulligan concert at Fiesta RealHotel on December 28th. The Castaway Kids did very well with their 50/50Raffle (thanks to the winners for donating all proceeds back to the organization),and the silent auction.
Sam Rainwater was presented with a “Platinum Starfish Award” byCastaway Kids’ President, Terry Challis, in the theme adopted by CastawayKids– helping to make a difference, one starfish at a time. Sam donates everypeso or dollar he makes anywhere in Mexico from his musical hobby of playing ,singing and writing songs in the Trop Rock style to Castaway Kids, then hiscompany, SUNTRONICS, matches his donation. He and his wife, Elizabeth,and SUNTRONICS also sponsor multiple students under the scholasticsponsorship program.
Mark Mulligan was also thanked for his continued support and he waspresented with airline tickets so he could bring his family back for CastawayKids’ big fundraiser concert planned for March 27th– put that date on yourcalendar.
Sam will be back for the next concert in 2nd Wednesday Concert Series,January 12th at Fiesta Real from 5:00-8:00, along with Ron Daisley, Neil Duvalland violinist, Martin Giacoman. Bring your jackets & blankets and come out andsupport the musicians, the orphanage, Community-minded Fiesta Real Hotel &Castaway Kids.
