boat parade

On December 24, the colorful and festive Parade of Lights leaves the San Carlos Marina at dusk and makes its way along the coast to Honeymoon Island and back. Thank you to the San Carlos Yacht Club for sponsoring this annual holiday favorite. Watch SanCarlos.tv’s video from last year’s parade.

Where to watch the Annual Lighted Boat Parade? Anywhere along the water between the marina and Charly’s Rock. A great place to watch it is from a beach or the little Malecon beside Charly’s Rock. A waterfront restaurant would also be an excellent choice.

There is a Captain’s meeting at 10:00am on December 24 at the Yacht Club. If you have a boat and would like to participate, please call Jan Rains at 227-0116.

All participating captains, owners and spouses are invited to a chili feed on Friday, December 23 at 6:00pm at the Yacht Club. Please reserve your spot by calling Jan Rains at 227-0116 or email sailboatdulcinea@yahoo.com.

SBPA Fundraiser. See the Christmas Eve Parade of Lights from the boat, Andale II. John is making home-made corn chowder (BYOB). The boat will leave the dock at Marina San Carlos between 5:00pm and 5:30pm on December 24. Call Sandy at 226-1084 to make a reservation. There is room for up to 20 people. The cost is 200 pesos each. All of the proceeds go to the SBPA. This is your chance to enjoy the parade from the ocean and to also help the SBPA to spay and neuter cats and dogs.
