
- Presidents Calderón and Obama and Prime Minister Harper all attended last week’s G-20 summit in Toronto. President Calderón called for the COP-16 in Mexico to be a turned into a watershed in mankind’s fight against climate change. - World Cup 2010 update. The World Cup is over for Mexico. After a controversial first goal, Argentina sent Mexico home with a 3-1 win.The quarter finals are on Friday (Uruguay vs Ghana and Netherlands vs Brazil) and Saturday (Germany vs Argentina and the winners of today’s games).
- President Calderón announced a series of measures to boost the automotive industry and support families who want to buy a new car, including the gradual elimination of the car ownership tax. As of December 31, 2011, individuals who buy a new car valued at under 250,000 pesos will not pay the car ownership tax. Read and watch President Calderón’s announcement.
