The World Cup starts for Mexico this Friday, June 11th, at 8:00 am against the host team South Africa. Mexico is a slight favorite but South Africa’s fans may be a factor. I suspect most shops and restaurants will have the TV’s on and there may be a few workers arriving late to their jobs.
Marina Cantina will be showing every game during the hours of 8:00am to 3:00am. If there is a game on, they will show it! Pancho Villa will also be broadcasting the games.

South Africa is led by head coach Carlos Alberto Parreira and team captain Aaron Mokoena. South Africa did not make the cut for the 2006 World Cup and went out in the 1st round in 2002 and 1998. They have a very low FIFA ranking of 90.
Mexico's next games are June 17th against France at 11:30am and June 22nd against Uruguay at 7:00am.
