Guaymas’ Bicentennial celebration was a huge success as thousands of people took to the streets wearing their best red, white and green. Mayor César Adrián Lizárraga Hernández was on a balcony overlooking the Three Presidents Plaza to deliver El Grito and ring the symbolic liberty bell recreating the famous call to arms by Miguel Hidalgo that sparked Mexico’s independence movement.  Shouts of “Viva Mexico!” resonated throughout the City.

Prior to El Grito, various singers and dancers, including mariachi, entertained the crowd. Following El Grito,  red, white and green fireworks illuminated the sky. On September 16, a colorful parade made its way down Serdan to Three Presidents Plaza.
