On Sunday, April 3, from 3:00pm to 7:00pm, the San Carlos Yacht Club will host the “Not Just Another Art Show” Art Show (map).
Nineteen outstanding regional artists, including two exquisite jewelry designers, have created unique artwork specifically for this show. You will see work not previously exhibited in our area. Five of the artists will be exhibiting exclusively at this show. A must-see are Jim Garwood’s critters. You will be amazed at the whimsical characters that Jim creates from gourds.
The Guest Artist is Victor Navarro. He was born in Guadalajara, Mexico in 1988 and began to study in Paris at the age 15. At 16, he became the youngest artist in the industry to be part of the Drouot Cotation Fine Art Collection in Paris and soon he was honored with medals and awards in Europe and Asia. By age 19, he was one of the youngest artists in the world to exhibit at the Carrousel Du Louvre, Paris Exhibit 2008. Victor also continued to study with several Masters from Mexico and has created an extensive body of work to be shown at the international level in the upcoming years.
In 2009, Victor was named Ambassador to the United States for the Merite et Devouement Français for the promotion of literature, fine arts and culture of France. As such, he created the Paris Tucson Exchange Art Exhibit held in the fall of 2009 and 2010.
Tickets are 100 pesos.
